Bribie Island’s local business community is set to come together for an important networking event hosted by BUSY Ability’s BATON program. Scheduled for Monday, April 15th, 2024, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Little Mike’s Café in Woorim, this event aims to empower businesses to embrace inclusivity and diversity in their hiring practices.
BATON, a pioneering initiative by BUSY Ability, has been instrumental in fostering connections between businesses and individuals with disabilities, promoting a more inclusive workforce. In line with this mission, the networking event is open to all Bribie Island business owners, with free admission for attendees.
Nikki Tinney, the dedicated Local Navigator leading the BATON program, expressed the significance of the event, stating, “Inclusivity isn’t just about filling job roles; it’s about enriching our workplaces and communities. This event provides a platform for local businesses to learn, connect, and explore how they can create a more inclusive environment.”
Attendees can expect an afternoon filled with valuable networking opportunities, engaging discussions, and access to resources aimed at supporting inclusive hiring practices. Complimentary recruitment toolkits will be distributed to all participants, courtesy of BUSY Ability.
Furthermore, EPIC assist, Your Local Recruitment Provider, will be present at the event to offer tailored support and guidance to businesses seeking to diversify their workforce.
All Bribie Island business owners are encouraged to RSVP here.
